Shandong Linuo Paradigma Co.,
Ltd, one of the largest solar energy
water heater manufacturers in PR China,
will use Honeywell (USA)’s Enovate® blowing
agent HFC 245fa to improve the performance of polyurethane (PU)
foam insulation of their products. It marks the first such
application of Enovate.
Honeywell
Enovate is a non ozone-depleting hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) that
allows rigid closed-cell insulation to expand and provides
superior insulating properties. Researchers from both
Honeywell and Linuo Paradigma jointly developed this latest
Enovate application as the phase out of ozone-depleting
substances such as CFCs. Rim Polymers Ltd (a Singapore based
subsidiary of CEH Group), was engaged to specifically design
and supply an on-line blending unit, Model PX 40fa for successful mixing of HFC 245fa and polyol. Current model
is having a flow-rate of 40 kg/min. and suitable to integrate
to existing foaming machine with barely any upgrading or
retrofit. Shangdong Linuo is producing with a ‘GMA’ high
pressure machine commissioned in 2003, and all it took was
just a delivery pipe to link between PX 40fa and the polyol
day tank of the GMA foaming machine.
Currently, most Chinese
solar energy equipment manufacturers use CFCs as a blowing
agent. China will cease production of CFC substances beginning
July 1, 2007, according to the State Environment Protection
Administration of China. Thus, a rush to get direct
replacement to existing CFCs is expected to take off soon when
pioneer user such as Linou proves that adopting HFC 245fa
system prove good insulation property and yet hardly affect
the configuration of metering machine. Moreover no explosive
risk is involved in handling Enovate, thus capital cost is
reduced significantly.
Both Honeywell and Rim
Polymers are always on hand to discuss your need to replace
blowing agent with Enovate 245fa and thus to produce 100%
Green and eco-friendly product.
